Pre-tax profits down 52% at Molloy Group

The Molloy Group witnessed a drop in profits and turnover in the year to the 31st January 2018 according to recently-filed accounts at the Companies Office.

Accounts for the year indicate that the Molloy family-owned business comprising seven off-licences and the Molloy’s Bar & Grill pub in Tallaght saw a 14.7% drop in turnover to €17 million from €20 million and a 52% fall in pre-tax profits to €289,005 during the course of the year.

And a drop in staff numbers from 128 to 105 reduced staff costs by over 15% to €2,988,952 from €3,537,084 the previous year.

Operating profits fell from €746,624 to €158,184 while emoluments for the two Directors Richard Molloy and Helen Murray totalled €154,178, down from €230,632 the previous year.
