Powerscourt wins Ireland’s Best Grain Award
Powerscourt Distillery has been awarded Ireland’s Best Grain for its Fercullen 15 Year Old Single Grain at the World Whiskies Awards, announced in Dublin on 26 February 2026.
Recognised through a rigorous blind tasting process judged by leading industry experts, the award positions Fercullen 15 among the country’s standout whiskey expressions
The national title recognises the Wicklow distillery’s commitment to craftsmanship and quality, with Fercullen 15 now set to represent Ireland at the Global World Whiskies Awards final in London in March.
Recognised through a rigorous blind tasting process judged by leading industry experts, the award positions Fercullen 15 among the country’s standout whiskey expressions.
It also marks another milestone for the distillery as it seeks to secure the Global title for a second consecutive year.

“The Madeira cask finish selected for Fercullen 15 adds layers of dried fruit, spice and complexity while retaining its natural sweetness and smoothness.

Fercullen 15 Year Old Single Grain is distilled from a mash of corn and malt, matured initially in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, with a portion finished in ex-Madeira casks.
Bottled at 41.5% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and natural in colour, with notes of hot buttered popcorn, vanilla fudge and exotic dried fruits, leading to a smooth, elegant finish.
Located in the historic Old Mill House on the Powerscourt Estate, Powerscourt Distillery has been producing the Fercullen Irish Whiskey range since 2018, laying down over one million litres of spirit on-site.
The range includes Fercullen Falls Blended Whiskey, Fercullen Single Malt, Fercullen 15 Year Old Single Grain and Fercullen 21 Year Old Single Malt.
