Powers Search for the 2012 Irish Coffee Making Champion
Baristas from bars, hotels and restaurants can compete in heats taking place at the Foynes Flying Boat Museum on April 30th.
The nation’s best will then battle it out for the title at a special contest held during the Foynes Irish Coffee Festival in County Limerick this June Bank Holiday Weekend.
Powers was the original whiskey used in the first Irish Coffee recipe created by Chef Joe Sheridan in 1943 which proved an instant hit.
Find entry forms and further information at www.foynesfestival.com. Contestants will be judged primarily on the taste of their final offering, but also on presentation, technique and personality in creating their perfect Irish Coffee.
The all-Ireland winner will receive a crystal trophy, a cheque for €500 and return tickets from Shannon or Dublin to New York with Continental Airlines. The entry form must be fully completed and returned to the Foynes Festival Office with the entry fee of €50 by Monday, April 23rd.
