Original Craft Beer Festival back
In line with the five-fold growth figure in the Irish craft beer industry since the festival first opened its doors, organisers are again predicting a record turn-out.
Attendees will get to taste the nation’s favourites as well as a record number of festival brews and spirits/cocktails. Over 15 American craft breweries are also participating via a collaboration with the American Brewers Association; most of these are not available yet in Ireland. To top this off, the explosion in the Irish spirits and distilling market will be aptly reflected in the extensive cocktail offering from Irish craft poitín-makers and a number of gin, whiskey and vodka distillers.
“This year’s festival promises to bring visitors an experience that’s unrivalled throughout the country,” claim the organisers Bruce Mansour and Seamus O’Hara, “It’s the pinnacle of the year within the Irish craft beer and cider industries. For three days, each supplier sets up its own space within the venue and chats with consumers, enjoying discussions about the intricacies of each unique combination of flavours making every individual product stand out from the next.”
An extensive live music and DJ line-up has also been announced. Hot Press will return to run a number of panel discussions with brewers and distillers on issues topical in the industry. Stuart Clark will MC.
The festival also offers a selection of the capital city’s favourite food producers.
