October bar volumes up 1.1%

Preliminary CSO figures for October suggest that bar sales were up 1.1% in volume and 3.7% in value compared with October 2013.

Volumes were up 2.0% on the previous month, September – and values up 1.9%.

Final figures for September show volumes down 3.0% on September the previous year and down by 0.5% in value. Volumes and values were down 2.7% on August.

In the three months August to October sales volumes were estimated to be down 0.4% while values rose 2.2%. Compared to the previous three-month period May to July, volumes in the three months to October were reckoned to be up 2.0% while values rose 2.6%.
