NZ’s Dublin Trade Tasting for Radisson Blu
Over 100 New Zealand wines are available to taste at this year’s New Zealand Winegrowers Annual Trade Tasting and this year there are a number of features including a market update and themed tables for the trade tasting.
The trade and press tasting takes place in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dublin’s Golden Lane on Monday the 9th of May, running from 2.00 – 6.00pm with a consumer tasting following at the same venue from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
New Zealand wines have a great following here in Ireland, selling 706,010 cases on the Irish market in 2020, increasing its share of the 10 million-case Irish wine market to 7%.
Latest available figures for the retail wine sector in Ireland on a MAT basis for the period to March 2021 show the market for New Zealand wine in the off-trade grew in both volume and value.
According to Scantrack the MAT volume figure for New Zealand wine to March 2021 amounted to 7.4% of total volume sales and 9.0% of value sales. On an MAT basis to September 2021 Nielsen figures show New Zealand Wine in fifth place overall in terms of off-trade volume sales.
