New Zealand Winegrowers holds its 23rd tasting of New Zealand wines in Ireland next January 13th.

Over 130 New Zealand wines will be available to taste via a number of key New Zealand wineries showing at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 8.

Participating wineries include:

Babich Wines, Brancott Estate, Felton Road, Hãhã Wine Company Ltd, Hunter’s Wines, Lawson’s Dry Hills, Nautilus Estate, Oyster Bay, Pegasus Bay Winery, Rimapere Wines Partnership, Sacred Hill, Spy Valley Wines, Villa Maria Estate, Wither Hills and Yealands Wines.

New Zealand Wine Growers trade tasting takes place from 2pm to 6pm before it opens to the public at 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

 

Dublin Trade masterclass (13.00)

Features at New Zealand in a Glass 2020 include a Pinot Noir Masterclass presented by Martin Moran MW. Places at this class must be booked in advance so contact Jean Smullen.

The themed tables this year will highlight Unexpected NZ and Rose wines.

New Zealand wines have very strong visibility in Ireland and are very much sought-after here, selling some 568,265 cases in the year to September, bringing its share to 6.4% of the 8.9 million case wine market here in the year to September.

The market for wine in the off-trade sector grew on an MAT basis for the period March 2018-2019 and according to Scantrack the MAT volume figure for nine-litre case sales to March 2019 was 338,465 cases, up 10.94% on the previous year.

Nielsen Scantrack shows that off-trade sales of New Zealand wine in the retail sector also increased by 10.14% in terms of value.
