McGargles transitions to Rye River

Celbridge, County Kildare-based Rye River Brewing Company fully transitions to new branding this week, retiring its McGargles beer brand for the brewery-led Rye River brand instead.
Rye River's move to a more polished brand look and approach demonstrates confidence in the business and the sector.

Rye River’s move to a more polished brand look and approach demonstrates confidence in the business and the sector.

While the beers stay the same but sport a fresh new look, this move to go back to its source earmarks the next chapter for the brewery claiming to be the world’s most decorated brewery for two years running.

It also signals a change in the craft beer drinker at large.

McGargles was the #1 craft retail brand in Ireland last year and at 8% ABV its Double India Pale Ale was the best-selling craft beer in Ireland in 2021.

Each beer has its own water recipe.  The brewery has a reverse osmosis facility on-site to purify water and make each recipe.

At a time when the craft industry is suffering at large, Rye River is bucking this trend and its move to a more polished brand look and its approach demonstrates confidence in the business and sector – especially when the aforementioned McGargles is already so popular with consumers.
