Jack Ryans – Best Irish Single Malt

Jack Ryans Irish Whiskey was awarded ‘Best Irish Single Malt whiskey’ in the ‘12 years and younger’ category at the Irish Whiskey awards held recently.

The Ryan family, proprietors of Beggars Bush pub on Haddington Road, Dublin, since 1913, launched the brand at the end of 2013. In celebrating their Centenary the family recreated the atmosphere and flavour of ‘Ryan’s Malt’ which they used produce in association with Dublin Whiskey Distillery until it closed its doors in 1946.

Jack Ryans ‘Beggars Bush’ Single Malt Irish Whiskey (ABV 46%) has been aged for 12 years with no chill filtration, allowing the true flavours of the whiskey to be retained. The whiskey has been matured in ex-bourbon barrels hand-picked by the family themselves to deliver a unique taste.

Family member and founder of the Jack Ryans Whiskey Company Eunan Ryan commented, “Winning an award with such a significant endorsement from respected whiskey connoisseurs gives Jack Ryans Whiskey the strong credibility and confidence needed to develop the brand in very competitive export markets. From a personal point-of-view this accolade is a true honour to my late father Jack”.

The annual awards ceremony was held in Kilbeggan Distillery, Ireland’s oldest licensed distillery.
