Hagstravaganza Beer Festival returns for its ninth annual edition, promising an unforgettable celebration of craft beer and community.
Scheduled to take place 11 to 12 August, this year’s festival is set to elevate the beer aficionado experience to new heights with over 100 beers, live musical entertainment, and the best food in the west of Ireland.
Hagstravaganza 2023 is all set to showcase a wide selection of craft beers from renowned breweries and famous brewers from around the world. Craftsmanship, creativity, and passion converge as master brewers present their finest brews, offering attendees an opportunity to savour a diverse range of flavours and styles of beers never seen before in Ireland – every brew has never poured here before.
The Hagstravagana Festival welcomes beer lovers from all corners of the globe, with tickets purchased as far away as Sydney, Los Angeles and Lisdoonvarna. Over 1,500 visitors are set to attend, along with 50 brewers and several members of the European trade.
Event Highlights
Pravda, Kyiv: The Ukranian Brewer comes to Ireland for the first time, bringing a range of their brilliant beers, including the notorious pale ale ‘Putin Huilo’ (Putin is a d**k). The brewery who spent the first few weeks of the Ukraine war making Molotov Cocktails on their production line to assist in the fight against invading troops, are now exporting beer with all sales repatriated to assist in the war effort back home.
Modern Times: The renowned San Diego brewer who last year went into liquidation, arises lazarus like to join us here in Sligo, having been resurrected by our friends at Maui Brewing. Expect to see some of the finest 2nd wave craft beers to ever emerge from the US in their selection.
Gourmet food optons: With food from Bree’s Bar Burgers, Pratai fresh chips, Pauls Pizza, La Cabana Paella and lots more.
Live music and entertainment: Groove to the rhythms of talented local bands and artists as they set the festival atmosphere alight with their dynamic performances. Live music, beer garden games, and beer tasting activities will ensure non-stop excitement throughout the event.
Community Spirit: Hagstravaganza Beer Festival is not just about beer; it’s about fostering a sense of community. The event supports local charities and initiatives each year, giving back to the region that has supported the festival over the years. This year we are supporting the Ballymote Community Park initiative, raising funds to build a local playground.
