Febvre returns pre-tax profits of €241k

Turnover at wine suppliers Febvre & Co dropped marginally from €18.78 million to €18.75 in the year to 31st December 2016 according to trading figures lodged with the Companies Office.

While turnover from UK activities slowed 18% to €1.46 million from the previous year’s €1.78 million, turnover in Ireland grew slightly to €17.3 million from around €17 million.

However at €240,526 Febvre’s pre-tax profits were considerably up on the previous year’s €1.33 million loss which the company primarily ascribed to “costs relating to litigation in France and Ireland in addition to restructuring costs within the company”.

The results show that the company also managed to reduce operating losses to €403,774 in 2016 from 2015’s €876,828.

Staff numbers were reduced from 45 to 42 thus reducing staffing costs by over €100,000 to €2.7 million.
