Febvre & Co turn a profit
Beer, wine & spirit distributor Febvre & Co achieved pre-tax profits of €578,198 in the 12 months to 31st December 2014 from a loss-making €1,661,573 the year before, according to accounts lodged with the Companies Office recently.
The company declared an operating profit of €1.15 million in the 12 months to 31st December 2014, turning around 2013’s loss of €1.30 million.
At €48.93 million, overall turnover at the company was slightly down on 2013’s €49.40 figure. Turnover in Ireland itself fell slightly to €22.64 million from 2013’s €24.55 million but Febvre’s ‘Rest of World’ turnover increased by nearly 6% to €26.29 million in 2014 from the previous year’s €24.85 million.
Staff costs for the company’s 123 staff were reduced by 8% to €6.97 million from €7.61 million with staff numbers reduced from 138 in 2103.
