Dunnes continues growth in takehome

Dunnes Stores alone continues to gain ground in the takehome beer and wine market, growing share from 18.0% (in the year to the 19th June 2016) to 18.8% in the year to the 18th June 2017 according to Kantar Worldpanel.

Market leader Tesco continued its decline in share of the supermarket beer and wine sales market, falling from a share of 28.1% to 27.1% while second-placed SuperValu’s share – which had been growing – shrank from 23.4% to 22.1%.

Similarly discounter Aldi lost share of this takehome market from 10.6% to 10.3% year-on-year although Lidl managed to hold onto its share at 11.5%.

The ‘Others’ in the market grew share from 8.4% to 10.2% according to Kantar Worldpanel.
