David Smith to head up Diageo Australia

Diageo Ireland Country Director David Smith has been appointed to the role of Managing Director of Diageo Australia.

In his new role he will be responsible for all aspects of Diageo’s Australia and New Zealand business including manufacturing, marketing and sales.

Since joining the Guinness Graduate Trainee Scheme he has held a number of senior marketing and commercial roles in Diageo and during his time in Ireland has been a driving force behind the launch of a range of new beers here including the Brewers Project beers such as Hop House 13.

David takes up his new role on September 1st having spent four years as Country Director for the company here and he replaces Tim Salt and will report to Diageo’s President for Greater China & Asia Sam Fischer.

His replacement here has yet to be announced.
