Carvery win for Derry’s Market Yard

The Market Yeard in Limavaddy, County Derry, has been crowned Ireland’s Best Pub Carvery at the sixth Great Carvery of the Year awards while The heights Hotel in Killarney, County Kerry, took the award for Best Hotel Carvery.

The winners were presented with their awards by Irish sporting hero Katie Taylor at the Grand Final at the Herbert Park Hotel in Dublin recently.

Launched in 2010 by Unilever Food Solutions Ireland, the Great Carvery of the Year is an all-island search for Ireland’s best pub and hotel carvery.

The provincial winners in the Public House of the Year category were: The 51 Bar, Dublin (Leinster); Bobby Byrne’s, Limerick (Munster); The Broken Jug, Mayo, (Connacht) and The Market Yard, Derry (Ulster).

The provincial winners in the Hotel of the Year category were: the Whitford House Hotel, Wexford, (Leinster); The Heights Hotel, Kerry (Munster); The Castlecourt Hotel, Mayo, (Connacht) and Harvey’s Point, Donegal (Ulster).

The two overall winning venues each receive PR and marketing support to the value of €4,500 and a specially-commissioned wall plaque.
