Beavertown brings soundtrack stories to Dublin

Beavertown launches two Dublin nights blending live music, storytelling and pub culture with Irish artists and fans

Beavertown, the London brewery behind Neck Oil Session IPA, is rolling into Dublin this June with a brand-new live experience built for big sing-alongs, strange stories and moments that spiral gloriously off script. Featuring Sexy Tadhg & Kean Kavanagh and hosted by Comedian Meg Reilly, the two-night series invites Dubliners to Stick Their Neck Out through live music and crowd storytelling.

Headliner Kean Kavanagh

The first stop lands at Egan’s, 17 Aungier Street, on 25 June with a performance from SexyTadhg, before heading to The Globe, 11 South Great George’s Street, on 26th June featuring Kean Kavanagh. DJ Minikimono will provide support across both nights.

SexyTadhg has earned a reputation for magnetic charisma, powerful vocals, and an unforgettable stage presence. A bilingual multi-instrumentalist rooted in traditional Irish music, they blend trad, theatrical pop, soul, and contemporary queer culture to create a sound that is uniquely their own.

In May, they released their highly anticipated SlutTrad EP, a bold project that reimagines traditional Irish music through a modern queer lens, fusing sean-nós singing, folk traditions, punk energy, and contemporary production.

Kean Kavanagh is an artist, producer and co-founder of Soft Boy Records. Since the release of his acclaimed 2020 mixtape, Dog Person, he has continued to evolve his sound, drawing on a broad range of influences. As a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Kavanagh has established himself as one of Ireland’s most distinctive musical voices.

Inspired by Ireland’s rich pub storytelling culture, Beavertown’s Soundtrack Stories is built around the magic that naturally unfolds when pulling up a stool with friends old and new. Through crowd stories and unexpected moments, guests will be invited to jump in and help shape the night as it happens. Part gig, part pub session and night will turn familiar venues into lively, unpredictable spaces where the crowd is every bit as important as the performers on stage.

The evenings will also introduce the newly dubbed Bard of Beavertown, Meg Reilly, who will help steer the atmosphere across both nights, weaving together music, conversation, crowd interaction and storytelling in real time.

Speaking about the upcoming events, Meg Reilly said: “These nights are all about the moments you can’t really plan for. Someone grabbing the mic, a room full of strangers suddenly singing together, stories getting bigger every time they’re told. That’s the magic of a proper pub night, and we’re basically giving that energy a stage and seeing what happens.”

As Beavertown continues to grow its footprint in Ireland, the June series marks another step in building real connections with Irish punters through music, culture and shared experiences that go far beyond the beer itself. More than simply showing up in pubs, the brewery is focused on creating nights as memorable as its flagship Neck Oil Session IPA, known for its crisp taste.

Already receiving a hugely positive response locally, Beavertown continues to carve out its place through live experiences, community moments and nights that people want to talk about the next morning.

Speaking about the launch, Genna Burchell, head of Brand Strategy & Culture at Beavertown.

“We didn’t want to create another standard gig night. This is about building something that feels loose, lively and genuinely social from the second people walk through the door. The best pub nights are always unexpected and that’s exactly the spirit we wanted to bottle with these events.”

With limited capacity across both venues, attendees can expect intimate, high-energy nights where music, storytelling and community collide in true Beavertown fashion.
