Fade Street Tavern opens late-night Dublin venue

Fade Street Tavern brings cocktails, biodynamic wines, music and Chicago-inspired pizza to Dublin’s late-night scene

Fade St Social has launched “Fade Street Tavern”, a new late-night concept built as a place to gather, eat well, drink better and stay late.

Fade Street Tavern has partnered with the award-winning team at Bar 1661 to create an entirely new cocktail menu, designed exclusively for the venue

The tavern-style bar brings together cocktails, biodynamic wines, music and seriously good pizza under one roof and has been quietly taking shape at Fade St Social for the past few months, under Dylan McGrath and his team, who teamed up with Dave Mulligan of Bar 1661 to bring the concept to life.

Food sits at the heart of the new menu.

Dylan McGrath and the kitchen team have spent months developing three distinctive styles of pizza for the new menu.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic taverns of Chicago and the nearly 100-year-old Vito & Nick’s.

The result is a fresh take on American pizza culture to Dublin, including crisp tavern-style thin crusts, airy Grandma pies and an 18-inch New York-style pizza, all made with long-fermented dough and premium ingredients.

To match the kitchen’s ambition, Fade Street Tavern has partnered with the award-winning team at Bar 1661 to create an entirely new cocktail menu, designed exclusively for the venue.

Together they have built a cocktail list with the same ambition as the menu it sits alongside.

Guests were welcomed to Fade Street Tavern with the house Salmoncito cocktail on arrival, while DJ January Winters provided the soundtrack from the very first pour, setting the tone for an evening celebrating Dublin’s newest late-night destination.

Guests then enjoyed appetisers of Fried Baby Globe Artichokes and the Tavern’s signature Deep Fried Braised Beef Cheek Lasagna, each thoughtfully paired with a crisp biodynamic white and chilled sparkling red from their new biodynamic wines list by Bren Smith of Mackenway Wines.

Pizzas were served family-style, beginning with the Tavern’s signature Pepperoni, Cheese and ’Nduja Tavern-style pizzas, accompanied by a selection of house-made dips, before moving on to the Artichoke & Mushroom Grandma Pie and finishing with The Daddy, the Tavern’s signature 18-inch New York-style pizza, all paired with the Tavern’s Negroni cocktail

To finish, guests shared Stracciatella Gelato, Dark Chocolate Mousse and the Tavern’s twist on Tiramisu, before rounding off the evening with the Belfast Coffee-made with Bán Poitín, cold brew coffee, demerara, cream and freshly grated nutmeg

With cocktails flowing, biodynamic & organic wines poured throughout the evening and DJ January Winters keeping the atmosphere alive well into the night, the launch perfectly captured what Fade Street Tavern is all about – bringing together expertly crafted cocktails, thoughtfully curated wines, Chicago-inspired tavern-style pizza and great music in a vibrant new late-night setting.

Dublin’s late night scene has a new address with Fade Street Tavern now open at Fade St Social, 4-6 Fade Street, Dublin 2, D02 NF77, with food and drinks served from Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm to late, booking is recommended but walk-ins are welcomed.
