Barry Group’s new Sales Director

The Barry Group, Mallow, has appointed Edwina Lucey as its new Sales Director.

Edwina joined the Barry Group in 1986, assuming various roles within the business before being appointed Trading Sales in 2008. She takes on the role of overall Sales Director with immediate effect and will now also be responsible for CarryOut.

The Barry Group celebrates its 60th year in business this year and is one of the leading wholesale groups in Ireland. The company was founded in 1955 by current Chief Executive Jim Barry’s father James A Barry. Today it operates from a state-of-the-art headquarters in Mallow where over 230 people are employed.

Trading both nationally and internationally in supplying over 1,000 customers, the Barry Group supplies 265 franchises under the Costcutter, CarryOut Off-Licence and Quik Pick symbols as well as a large number of independent retailers and wholesalers based in Ireland.

The Barry Group was named as a Great Place to Work and as one of Deloitte’s Best Managed companies. Jim Barry himself was also named as Ireland’s Most Trusted Leader at the 2015 GPTW awards and most recently was named as a National Champion for Ireland in The European Business Awards sponsored by RSM, a competition supported by businesses leaders, academics, media and political representatives from across Europe.
