Barry & Fitzwilliam gets BrewDog

Drinks distributor Barry & Fitzwilliam has secured the Irish distribution rights to the iconic craft beer brand BrewDog.

The distribution deal becomes effective on 1st January 2018.

“The addition of the BrewDog brand to our portfolio will give our customers an unrivalled choice of craft beers both domestic and international,” commented Barry & Fitzwilliam’s Managing Director Michael Barry.

Back in 2007 BrewDog kick-started the craft beer revolution in the UK via its two founders James Watt and Martin Dickie who went on over the following decade to make it the UK’s most successful international craft beer business thanks to its rapid expansion through ‘Equity for Punks’ crowdfunding platform.

As a result of Equity for Punks crowdfunding, £50 million has been raised from among its 60,000 investors.

Ireland has long been a key export market for BrewDog and the brand is currently scouting for a location for a bar of its own in Dublin.
