Dublin venue BAR 1661 has announced the launch of BAR 1661 Experiences, a world first 28 course cocktail tasting, showcasing its recently launched new cocktail menu: ‘We Call this Power’

Hosted by Dave Mulligan and his award winning bar team, each cocktail is a celebration of the partner businesses, brands and most of all people that make BAR 1661 what it is today.

BAR 1661 Experiences are designed for flavour explorers, connoisseurs and passionate alcohol enthusiasts. The cocktail equivalent of a fine dining tasting menu, guests can expect an interactive, informative and convivial experience, all taking place around a shared island.

This unique event is a showcase of skill, process and flavour, with 28 cocktails presented with information behind their partnerships, techniques, styles, and names.

On arrival, guests are greeted with BAR 1661’s signature Belfast Coffee, then drinks are served as comparative flights of two, three and four serve courses, in mini-format with matching glasses, ice, and garnishes as in the same menu as the bar’s full course menu.

A flight of mini non-alcoholic cocktails are served during a break in courses, with a shared table of bar snacks.

BAR 1661 Experiences are extremely limited to just ten seats per session, taking place on select Fridays and Saturdays from 7-10.30pm, at BAR 1661 adjacent cocktail factory.

Priced at €165 per person, and already completely sold out for 2024, tickets for this exclusive concept have now been released for February and March 2025, and would make the perfect Christmas gift for any bon vivant.

Cocktail enthusiasts looking for some seasonal gifting inspiration can also bring a little bit of BAR 1661 home with them, with their signature Belfast Coffee, in a new bottling.

A modern twist on the classic Irish Coffee, made with Bán Poitîn and cold brew coffee, it’s so popular at the venue it even outsells the Guinness. The 700ml bottle is priced at €30 and available direct from the bar or from their online liquor store, which is dedicated to limited editions, collaborations and very specialist spirits.

Also available is a very limited release Bán cocktail cask, aged in an experimental Amontillado Sherry barrel with rested Bán poitín entwining whisky, fig, chocolate, and madeira using a unique cocktail aging method. Traditionally inspired, modernly made, this results in a rich golden blend with seasonal jammy fig flavours.

Limited to just 75, the 700ml bottles are priced at €75. For the undecideds, BAR 1661 gift cards can also be purchased, and can be redeemed in part or full against BAR 1661 Experiences as well as in the venue and for the online shop.

Tickets for BAR 1661 Experiences for February and March 2025 can now be purchased exclusively here.

BAR 1661 will be opening for regular Christmas hours over the festive period.
