Top Trends on the Catex Table    

Ireland’s largest foodservice and hospitality event Catex returns to the RDS, Simmonscourt, from Tuesday 26 th – Thursday 28th February next year and with upwards of 12,000 visitors expected to attend, it’s one of the most eagerly-anticipated industry events of the year.

Created and owned by the Irish Foodservice Suppliers Alliance, Catex represents an opportunity to see first-hand the innovative and emerging trends set to shape the Irish food and drink industry over the coming years.

For those looking to source the newest, most innovative food and drink products or simply keep their fingers on the pulse of the hottest trends, next year’s event promises to serve up innovative new business ideas and it will combine quality produce with masterclasses across the three days.

Supported by Bunzl and Calor Gas the 2019 event reflects the growing foodservice market in Ireland that’s set to grow by 6.1% to reach a value of €8.2 billion, according to a recent Bord Bia survey.

Over the three days of the show, Catex will host the Irish Barista Championship and the Irish Latte Art Championship, organised by SCAE Ireland, which will see Ireland’s best baristas vie for the chance to represent Ireland at the World Barista Championships. The Bartenders Association of Ireland’s Irish Cocktail Championships will welcome Ireland’s leading mixologists who’ll be putting their skills to the test during the cocktail challenges.

The Panel of Chefs of Ireland have also launched the new Chef Ireland competitions schedule for Catex 2019 including the Chef of the Year competition.
