Winning in person

Heineken has been making some pretty impressive waves on social media lately.

One of the best wheezes of the year involved rugby star Jonah Lomu and Harry Byrne’s pub in Clontarf, Dublin – itself not averse to making a number of fine social media-savvy videos promoting the Northside establishment.

Recently, to mark Heineken’s sponsorship of the 2015 Rugby World Cup the brewery somehow managed to offer personalised signed rugby balls on the successful toss of a coin from a vending machine in Harry Byrne’s. It subsequently become something of a social media sensation.

Those using the vending machine to win a specially-signed rugby ball were discombobulated to understand just how their own name and personal details could be on a rugby ball in a script clearly just signed by Jonah himself….. See for yourself
