Tesco ups beer & wine share
Tesco has increased its share of the take-home beer and wine market from 29.4% in the year to 1st February 2015 to 29.6% in the year to 31st January 2016 and it continues to lead the market in take-home wines and beers according to figures from Kantar Worldpanel.
Second-placed Supervalu also increased its beer and wine share during this time from 24.4% to 24.8%.
In third place Dunnes Stores remains unmoving in share at 16.9% while Lidl sits in fourth place having dropped 0.1% in share to 9.9%.
However Aldi, in fifth position, dropped considerably more share falling from 10.0% to 9.3% while the ‘others’ (predominantly independents & symbols) gained 0.2% in share rising from 9.3% to 9.5%.
