SuperValu takes lead in Beer & Wine

Supermarket Tesco continued losing share of the beer and wine market in the year to 3rd November, slipping from a 25.9% share to 25.1%.
SuperValu increased its share of the beer and wine market in year to 3rd November, from 25.1% to 26.0%, giving it the biggest market share for the first time.

At the same time its main rival for the alcohol market, SuperValu, increased its share from 25.1% to 26.0%, giving it the biggest market share for the first time.

Similarly Dunnes Stores grew its share from 17.0% to 18.0% while Aldi saw no change in its 10.3% share. Lidl, the other discounter, saw its share slip from 12.1% to 11.4%.

Nevertheless the independent off-licence sector saw another contraction in share from 9.6% to 9.3% during this time.
