SuperValu beer, wine & cider market share up 1.7%

Market leader Tesco lost further share of the beer, wine & cider market in the year to August 11th, according to Kantar Worldpanel figures supplied to Drinks Industry Ireland, falling from a share of 26.3% to 25.0%.
Second-placed SuperValu found its share rising from 24.6% to 26.3% in the year to August 11th.

At the same time second-placed SuperValu found its share rising from 24.6% to 26.3%.

Similarly, third-placed Dunnes Stores’ share of the off-trade alcohol market (excluding spirits sales) rose from 16.5% to 17.9%.

Discounters Lidl & Aldi (in fourth and fifth places respectively) found their share shrinking from 12.3% to 11.3% in the case of Lidl and from 10.5% to 10.2% in the case of Aldi.

The ‘Others’, too, found their share slipping further from 9.8% to 9.3%.
