Sharon Walsh appointed Marketing Director at Heineken Ireland

Sharon Walsh has been made Marketing Director at Heineken Ireland having held the role of Marketing Manager since joining the company in July 2011.

She led the development of the Heineken Ireland brand strategy and operations plan for 2012 and has overseen the development of the new Heineken Cup advertising and sponsorship programmes.

A marketing professional with over 14 years experience in the FMCG industry, prior to joining Heineken Ireland Sharon spent eight years with Coca-Cola Ireland where she was Head of Marketing for Sparkling Brands with responsibility for a portfolio including Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Fanta, Sprite.

Sharon also worked with Diageo Ireland for five years handling marketing for the Baileys and Smirnoff brands.

She holds a Masters Degree in Strategic International Marketing from DCU and was a finalist in the Marketer of the Year 2007. 

She’s also been the recipient of two All Ireland Marketing Awards: ‘Brand Campaign of the Year 2006’ for the repositioning of Diet Coke in Ireland and ‘Advertising Campaign of the Year 2008’ for her work on Sprite.
