Revenue seize contraband worth over €153,000 in various operations
Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €153,000 in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort.

These seizures are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting smuggling and shadow economy activity
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence-led operations, and included the following:
- Approximately 5.3 kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of over €108,000.
- 155 counterfeit items with an estimated value of over €32,400.
- Various illicit drugs with an estimated value of over €5,600.
- Over 496 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of over €5,200, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of almost €3,000.
- Tobacco products with an estimated value of €1,900, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of almost €1,400.
- The illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling with the assistance of detector dogs Ciara and Sam. Packages were detected coming from the UK, the USA, France, Canada,
- Spain, Thailand and the Netherlands were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights.
19 weapons and weapon accessories were also seized.
Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
