Provide council with set of accounts for lower rates, advises VFI Secretary

Providing the local Council with three years’ accounts as an indication of profitability seems to have resulted in lower valuations - at least for pubs in the Waterford area, according to Michael Fitzgerald, Company Secretary of the Vintners Federation of Ireland.

He himself had received a 30% reduction in his rates bill as a result of supplying his local council with sets of accounts for the past three years, he told this year’s VFI Conference.
