Welcoming visitors to experience a unique Whiskey distillery in an extraordinary location, the converted mill house dates back to 1730 and like a time portal the visitor emerges from the ancient entrance building into a light, bright contemporary 20,000sq ft distillery and modern visitor centre which has been thoughtfully designed to seamlessly blend old with new.

With carefully-appointed individual tasting rooms available for private and corporate hire, a high-end AV lounge, café, bar and retail areas (now open to the public for daily tours and tastings), the production facility is complimented by onsite warehousing that provides ideal conditions for maturation, offering another distinctive aspect for visitors.

What immediately sets Powerscourt Distillery apart from the many new distilleries opening on the island is the influence of Master-Distiller & Blender Noel Sweeney. He brings his decades of expertise and knowledge, being one of the central people who can be attributed with laying the foundations over 20 years ago for the current Irish Whiskey renaissance.

At the forefront of innovation in Irish whiskey for over 30 years, this globally-recognised expert is credited with the release of many international award-winning whiskies and is an inductee into the Whisky Magazine’s World Whiskey ‘Hall of Fame’. A founding member of the Irish Whiskey Association and the GI technical file for Irish Whiskey, Noel oversees all aspects of whiskey production on the estate (including the first expressions of the Fercullen brand) and laying down of new spirit for future releases.

He has also played a huge part in the design and commissioning of the plant facilities ensuring the delivery of his quintessential style of delicately crafted award-winning whiskies of character with layers of complexity.

Powerscourt Distillery also offers an exclusive Cask Programme. The limited availability of the 397 casks is attributed to the height of the neighbouring Powerscourt Waterfall’s standing at 397ft, the highest in Ireland.

The programme is akin to a membership where benefits include exclusive on-site shopping discounts, guaranteed access to future limited editions, special releases and Estate-only expressions, annual samplings and private whiskey tastings as well as  invitations to special Cask Programme events.http://www.Powerscourt Distillery.com

Fercullen 18 Year-old Single Malt was launched last November 2019. It’s the latest expression from The Powerscourt Distillery to join the Fercullen family of award-winning, premium Irish whiskeys which includes Fercullen 10 Year-Old Single Grain Whiskey, Fercullen Premium Blend Irish Whiskey and Fercullen 14 Year-Old Single Malt Whiskey.
