Peter Mosley – New IBA Chair

The Irish Brewers Association has elected Peter Mosley, Managing Director of the Porterhouse Brewing Company, as its new Chairman.

The Association is the representative voice for the brewing industry in Ireland.

Peter replaces the outgoing Chairman Keith Fagan, Molson Coors’ former Country Manager.

Beer remains the nation’s most popular drink, taking a 45.2% share of the alcohol product market last year, an increase of 2.7% in the volume of beer consumed compared to the previous year.

According to the latest Central Statistics Office figures the value of beer exports from Ireland increased by 1.2% last year, from €275.6 million in 2017 to €279 million in 2018.

“Ireland’s beer industry is one of the country’s most exciting and dynamic sectors,” said Peter Mosley, “There’s been a plethora of new brewers and new beer brands entering the industry over the past few years, illustrated by the growth in craft beer and other innovations like low and non-alcohol beer options. While there are plenty of opportunities on the horizon, there are also many challenges we face such as uncertainties surrounding Brexit.”
