October Bar Sales volumes down

Bar Sales were down 2.9% in volume in October compared with the same month in 2018 and they were down 1.0% in value according to provisional seasonally-adjusted figures from the CSO.

 

The three months from August to October this year saw a decrease overall of 3.0% in bar sales volumes and a 1.2% decrease in values when compared to the same quarter in 2018.

And October’s bar sales volumes were down by 5.0% over the previous month, September, with values showing a decline of 3.1%.

Final figures for September indicate bar sales volumes down 3.2% on September 2018 with values down 1.5%.

Compared to August 2019 September’s bar sales volumes were marginally up (0.7%) while values flatlined.

The three months from August to October this year saw a decrease overall of 3.0% in bar sales volumes and a 1.2% decrease in values when compared to the same quarter in 2018.

When this is compared to the immediately preceding three-month period – May to July 2019 – sales volumes were up 0.4% and values were up 1.5%.
