Niamh Boyce – Hennessy New Irish Writer 2012
Niamh, who currently works as a librarian, lives in Athy, County Kildare and is the author of The Herbalist, one of the winners of the Irish Writers’ Centre Novel Fair 2012.
Her novel Ghost Estate and collection of short stories, A Wildcat’s Buffet, have also been nominated for awards and her submission Kitty also won the Emerging Poetry award.
Other winners included Barbara Tarrant for Baby in the First Fiction category and Viv McDade for Leaving for Chile in the Emerging Fiction category while renowned Irish novelist John Boyne was this year’s inductee to the Hennessy Literary Awards Hall of Fame.
The awards, now in their 41st year, took place in the French Ambassador’s Residence.
