Marmite in a glass
With oceans of different spirit innovations now available to the consumer the idea of a Marmite-themed one might be less likely to ‘swim’ but the Australian distiller Archie Rose has come up with a limited-edition spirit themed on the Oz equivalent to Marmite – Vegemite.
ArchieMite Buttered Toast Spirit was inspired by Australia’s love for the umami-rich breakfast spread and features freshly-churned, uncultured Pepe Saya butter and Sonoma sourdough toast.
Yes.
“The unaged spirit has a big, mitey character at the front followed by biscuity, bready notes,” observes Amanda Jennings, Marketing Project Manager for ArchieMite, “On the palate you’re given a combination of all three elements coming together – buttery, almost warm, crisp-edged toast with that umami-rich, savoury mite flavour.”
Surprisingly, it’s only available as a limited edition.
In Australia.
