Pat Nolan Blog

Letter to the editor

I have a reasonable question concerning an article in today’s RTE news that states Harris’ new law on advertising restrictions operate on a 200m distance of schools etc.

I live in a village area where the national school is 140m from the community pub according to google maps.  How is this to work out in its legality/lawful existence under the proposed legislation?

What has been done to protect both parties – the children and the publican’s business – alike under these circumstances?

Sincerely
