The ‘Giggling Squid’ restaurant in Windsor, England, had much to chortle about when builders working there discovered a stash of fine wine in a hidden cellar accessed down a hidden staircase itself hidden behind a trap door.

The unexpected haul of over two dozen bottles of vino dating back to the 1970s included bottles of Château Latour, Château Rebouquet la Roquette and a Château de Montrabech worth an estimated £20,000.

A Thai restaurant and a Pizzaland missed out on the wealth-making wines. Before that, Zizzi’s, a long-closed Italian restaurant is thought to have been the source of the sauce. The bottles were discovered nestling in two feet of water.
