Kinsale’s Stonewell Cider to export to Italy

Kinsale’s Stonewell Medium Dry Cider, which recently scooped a bronze medal in the new Cider category at the Blas na hÉireannIrish National Food Awards in Dingle, Co Kerry, has secured a breakthrough export agreement with Qualitá Club in Italy.

Managing director of Stonewell Irish Craft Cider Daniel Emerson has announced details of a distribution deal that will see the brand develop its presence in the Italian market where there’s a burgeoning interest in artisan ciders.

The export agreement is considered particularly valuable as the new alliance also involves a significant marketing campaign on the part of the Italian food and drinks distributor.

The Verona-based company specialises in the distribution of artisan or craft brands and over the last 30 years.

The cider, which launched in 2010, also has a growing profile in France according to Daniel Emerson who added, “This agreement is a key step in Stonewell’s objective of achieving 40 per cent export turnover. After just two years, we feel it’s an astounding achievement.”

Stonewell is a craft cider producer based in the picturesque village of Nohoval, Kinsale. run by husband and wife team Daniel & Géraldine.  The cider is made solely from fresh apple juice and is fermented using a natural champagne yeast.
