JP McMahon marks 15 years of Aniar through a series of collaborations, menus and signature dishes
As Aniar approaches its 15th year, Jp is revisiting the dishes that have defined the restaurant through a series of collaborations, menus and partnerships taking place over the coming months.

The first of these is a special dual-Michelin-star collaboration at Glover’s Alley in Dublin on 6 May, where JP McMahon and Andy McFadden will present a tasting menu featuring signature dishes from Aniar’s past and present
Opened in 2011, Aniar was founded on a clear ethos: to reflect the produce, landscape and personality of the West of Ireland, with its name translating to “from the west”.
The restaurant was awarded a Michelin star in 2012 and has retained it every year since.
Jp McMahon said: “15 years of Aniar. 15 years of service, seasonality, stories, and the west of Ireland on the plate.
“What we’ve built has always been about more than food. It has been about place, people, and the possibility of seeing Irish cuisine differently.
“I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of that journey.
“What began as a small idea in Galway has grown into something far greater: a new way of seeing Irish food on the global stage.”
The milestone will be marked through a series of events, collaborations and menus that reflect on the past and look to the future.
The first of these is a special dual-Michelin-star collaboration at Glover’s Alley in Dublin on 6 May, where Jp McMahon and Andy McFadden will present a tasting menu featuring signature dishes from Aniar’s past and present, alongside contemporary dishes from Andy and his Glover’s Alley team.
In June, the focus returns to Aniar, with menus throughout the month revisiting some of the restaurant’s most iconic dishes from the past 15 years.
These dishes will reflect both the evolution of the kitchen and the ideas that have shaped it, from visiting chefs through Jp’s Chef Swap initiative to the producers he and his team have worked with over that time.
Later in the summer, a limited-edition sparkling rosé developed in partnership with David Llewellyn of Lusca Wines will be launched.
Produced at the Lusk-based vineyard, it will be available exclusively at the restaurant and will feature a specially designed “15 Years of Aniar” label.
Further collaborations will follow, including a guest appearance at OX in Belfast on 20 August with chef Stephen Toman, as well as additional events and initiatives planned for the autumn.
