Irish Pubs Global Gathering set for February

Irish Pubs Global’s second Gathering takes place in conjunction with Alltech’s third International Brews and Food Fair at the end of February 2015 in the National Convention Centre.

“Given the world-class facilities at Dublin’s Convention Centre, the complementary activities at the Alltech Fair and our important trade audience, it was agreed that this would add to the overall appeal of coming to Ireland to attend and be of mutual benefit to all parties,” IPG’s Executive Director Kevin McParland explained.

Guinness has agreed to be headline sponsor for the event. Associate sponsors include the Irish Village Dubai, the Porterhouse Brewery, Zip Technologies and the Irish Pub Company.

IPG’s Gathering has become an annual conference and trade show event for owners and managers of Irish pubs around the world, providing them with an opportunity to come together to learn from expert speakers in the industry and network with their peers as well as meet suppliers to the sector. Some pubs have even changed hands as a result of this event.

Last year, pub owners from 22 countries plus attendees from Ireland itself attended and discovered how to use craft beer as a growth-driver, how to incorporate food into their offering without huge investment and how to make small changes to décor in making a big difference to trade etc.

The IPG event was followed by a series of talks and workshops at the Alltech International Craft Brews & Food Fair this February where another 300 pub owners learned more about the challenges facing their pubs and how to tackle them.

This year the IPG Gathering will be bigger and even better. Kevin McParland expects over 1,000 visitors, with Drinks Industry Ireland media partner to the event.

“With the social schedule we’ve developed, there are plenty of reasons for pub owners from afar to bring the family and make a proper trip from this event,” he added.

On the commercial side, a number of sponsors have already come aboard and exhibitors have been booking space at the show.

“The owners who attend our events are in many ways the cream of the crop,” explained Kevin, “They’re the innovators and entrepreneurs who’re very involved and passionate about making their businesses better.

“They want to maintain that edge and give their customers that little bit more in service, standards and experience.”

Thanks to its sponsors the event is free to attend, click here to book your place now.
