Heineken to double UK pub portfolio

Heineken is to double the number of pubs it owns in the UK with the recent £305 million (€362m) deal to acquire another 1,900 units from the Punch Taverns Group there which currently owns some 3,300 bars.

The deal will place Heineken as the UK’s third-largest pub landlord when the new pubs are added to the 1,100 leased outlets the Dutch brewer already owns under its Star Pubs & Bars operation across the UK.

The sale should complete before the end of H1 2017.
