Guinness tours with Taste-test

To celebrate the roll-out of Guinness Mid-Strength to pubs in Dublin and nationwide, Guinness has announced details of a Guinness Mid-Strength Taste Test tour hosted by Guinness Master Brewer Fergal Murray together with former Irish rugby international (and Guinness Mid-Strength ambassador) Mick Galwey.

The free events are open to the public and will be an opportunity for Guinness lovers to do the Guinness Mid-Strength (2.8 per cent ABV) taste test and get a fascinating insight into the brewing process and history behind the iconic Irish stout.

Fergal Murray is a global Guinness ambassador who’s poured pints for many famous people including the Queen of England.  He Fergal has taste-tested Guinness in almost every country where it’s served and is the international spokesperson on the brand. On the night, Fergal and Mick will also teach attendees how to pour the perfect pint and award prizes for the best attempts.

Fergal said, “I’m interested to get feedback on Guinness Mid-Strength. We invested a lot of time in developing this product so that there’s no compromise on taste.  I am always delighted to share the history, stories and heritage of the brand with people”.

To register for the free Dublin Taste Test tour event and for a list of Dublin bars serving Guinness Mid Strength check out facebook.com/GuinnessIreland. The Guinness Mid-Strength Taste Tour will visit pub venues in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Mayo and Belfast.

Guinness and other beer drinkers can also walk into any Dublin pub stocking Mid-Strength and ask the bartender for the Guinness Mid-Strength Taste Test, a pub activity where customers can blind taste a complimentary Guinness and Guinness Mid-Strength from sample cups to see if they can taste the difference.

Guinness Mid-Strength is currently available in 750 pub outlets across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Beginning with the Leapordstown Inn on 26th April, events will also take place in Cork (9th May), Galway (17th May) and Belfast (23rd May).

If it looks like a Guinness, tastes like a Guinness..... then it could just be Guinness Mid-Strength - (from left): to Guinness Master Brewer Fergal Murray and former Irish rugby international (and Guinness Mid-Strength ambassador) Mick Galwey things look a little dark.
