Guinness Open Gate Brewery prepares for busy footballing May bank holiday weekend

This May bank holiday weekend, the Guinness Open Gate Brewery (GOGB) in Dublin 8 will transform into a Premier League matchday experience.

Sunday, May 4 sees Michelin-starred matchday pies from Variety Jones, a live sports podcast, and live football under one roof.

Hosted by Eoin McDevitt, Ken Early, and Ciaran Murphy of Second Captains alongside special guests, the award-winning trio bring their podcast to Irish football fans in Guinness’ experimental taproom.

Second Captains will debate some of the Premier League season’s biggest talking points alongside action on the big screen featuring Chelsea vs. Liverpool and Brighton vs. Newcastle.

Eoin McDevitt, Second Captains said: It’s always fun to bring The Second Captains Podcast to life in different ways. Matchday at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery is all about celebrating the passion and knowledge of football fans from across Ireland, all coming together for the shared love of the game.

Ticket holders for matchday at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery will be treated to the main event with Second Captains alongside a complimentary limited edition Guinness scarf, access to the Premier League trophy for a selfie or team photo, and a Variety Jones Guinness & Beef matchday pie paired with Guinness or Guinness 0.0.

The Guinness Open Gate Brewery will be open from 14.00 for the Brighton vs. Newcastle match in the recently refurbished outdoor area.

As Guinness celebrates its global partnership with the Premier League, this matchday experience marks the beginning of a four-year journey as the official beer and official non-alcoholic beer of the Premier League.
