February off-trade prices fall 2.6%

The price of alcoholic beverages in off-licences and supermarkets fell by 2.6% last month compared with February 2014.

Compared to the previous month, January, alcoholic beverages prices fell by 1.5% which comprised a 2.8% fall in wine prices and a 0.2% fall in beer prices according to CSO figures.

In the on-trade licensed premises witnessed a 0.4% rise in prices in February 2015 compared to February 2014 which comprised a rise of 0.5% in spirits and wine prices, a 0.3% rise in beer prices and a 0.4% rise in soft drinks & mineral water prices.

Compared to the previous month, January, the price of all the above items level-pegged in the on-trade.
