Dublin’s newest private members club, the Studio has arrived at 3Arena

The Premium Club has been redesigned and imagined at the Studio
Located within the centre of 3Arena, the newly refurbished club, the Studio, has been meticulously redesigned as a venue not just for watching live music, but for feeling every note. Members will step into a world of rich textures and warm tones, where retro inspiration meets contemporary energy.
“We’ve always believed that live music is about more than the stage. It’s about the feeling you carry with you,” said Virginia Fortune, head of Private Members Clubs at Live Nation Ireland. “This new chapter, as the Studio, was designed around our members, retaining the atmosphere they love while bringing in a fresh new energy through the space, the brand and the experience. It’s a place where members can relive the magic of music in a setting that feels both familiar and exciting.”
After over a decade as The Premium Club, one of 3Arena’s renowned private members clubs, now enters this bold new era as the Studio.
Commissioned by Live Nation Ireland, Alan Ellis from Ellis Design Studio, was engaged to design a vibrant reimagining of the space, inspired by the energy and excitement of live performance, within the landmark 13,000-seat amphitheatre – one of the top ten busiest music arenas in the world by ticket sales.
The design pays homage to eclecticism and creativity. It’s a space where the love of music and performance is infused. Drawing on the heritage of the iconic 3Arena building and reflecting the unique character of Dublin.
Currently open following its official launch last week for the Simply Red gig, the reimagined club draws inspiration from the rhythm and romance of the recording studio era.
Design details such as vintage speakers, framed gig posters, record displays and perforated timbers suggest the aesthetic of a recording studio and celebrate the art of live performance. A carefully curated mix of textures, warm lighting and music-inspired artwork referencing iconic 3Arena moments helps create a social, personality-infused venue that feels both comfortable and expressive.
Virginia Fortune says, “This transformation isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s a mindset shift. While current membership benefits remain unchanged, the refurbishment signals a refreshed approach to how members engage with the venue, the music and each other. This isn’t a velvet-rope VIP zone. It’s a club for music lovers: inclusive, elevated and full of personality.”
Anchored in the cultural movement toward nostalgia and experience-driven connection, the Studio is designed to reflect and amplify the energy of its members. From gig-goers and superfans to industry tastemakers, it’s a community united by its love for live music, now with a club that truly reflects that.
Over the years, The Premium Club hosted some of 3Arena’s most legendary nights, from sold-out global tours to intimate, once-in-a-lifetime performances. With a nod to that rich legacy, this new chapter as the Studio embraces what made the space special and sets the tone for what’s next.
