Dublin’s Celtic Whiskey Shop celebrates 20 years in business
The award winning whiskey specialist raised a dram on its 20th birthday
Since the Celtic Whiskey Shop first opened its doors on 20 June 2003, the Dawson Street store and online shop has since become one of Dublin’s favourite destinations for whiskey, premium spirits, and wine.
A winner of the World’s Best Whiskey Shop on three occasions, the Celtic Whiskey Shop is home to Ireland’s largest collection of whiskey and spirits, including exclusive, rare and collectable bottlings. It also has one of Ireland’s most interesting and eclectic wine selections.
Over the past 20 years, Celtic Whiskey has added many other layers to the business including the Celtic Whiskey Wholesale which supplies bars, restaurants, hotels & independent shops with a wide range of whiskeys, premium spirits & wine. It also has the Celtic Whiskey Bar & Larder in Killarney which won Ireland’s Best Whiskey Bar in Icons of Whisky 2023.
As well as doing many exclusive single cask releases with all the leading distilleries, Celtic Whiskey has its own Celtic Cask and The Celt whiskey brands. Celtic Cask has released 45 different single cask offerings, with Celtic Cask Triìocha a Cuìig (35) 1999 21 Year Old Oloroso Cask Finish winning Ireland’s Best Whiskey in 2021.
An integral part of the Irish whiskey industry, it organises and hosts Ireland’s premier drink event, Whiskey Live Dublin which recently had its eighth show at the RDS with over 100 exhibitors showing their drinks to over 4500 whiskey & spirit aficionados and enthusiasts.
The Celtic Whiskey team also run the annual Irish Whiskey Awards which is Ireland’s main Whiskey & Irish Spirits competition.
Together with the help of suppliers and customers, Celtic Whiskey have managed to raise over €300,000 for charities over the years including Mary’s Meals, Down Syndrome Dublin, Down Syndrome Ireland, Debra Ireland and the Kerry Parents & Friends Association.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary milestone Celtic Whiskey Shop is doing a prize draw open to every instore purchaser of whiskey or spirits from 19 to 24 June.
