Dillon’s John Pearson to retire

The Chief Executive of Edward Dillon & Company, John Pearson, is stepping down at the end of April.

John has been with the company 19 years and is retiring at 60.  He is to be replaced by Andy O’Hara, currently Commercial Director with the company.

Commenting on John’s decision to retire, Paul Haran, Chairman, Edward Dillon and Company Ltd, said, “John has been a powerful force in the shaping of Edward Dillon’s success over the past two decades. His exceptional commitment and unrivalled knowledge of the drinks industry have ensured that, during times of extraordinary change, the company has reinforced its leadership position in the Irish market. The clarity of vision and sense of purpose with which Edward Dillon now faces the future is testimony to John’s strong leadership of the company.

“The Board is delighted that it has been possible to appoint John’s successor from within the company’s existing management team. Andy has shown great energy and commitment in his previous sales and commercial roles and is well placed to lead the company’s future development.

“I know that John intends to remain active in Irish business, the Board and all at Edward Dillon wish him well in his future ventures.”

John Pearson added, “I have been privileged to work with great brands but above all great people during my time with Edward Dillon. We have achieved much together and having decided that the time is now right for me to move on, I  take this opportunity of thanking the Board and all the staff of the company for their unstinting support and of wishing them every future success.  I now look forward to considering new areas of interest and opportunity.”
