Tesco insights have revealed that rosé sales peak in December, matching May’s levels, showing that customers love bringing their favourite pink bottle to festive gatherings.
Rosé, the iconic sunshine tipple, is quickly making its way into the winter spotlight, proving it’s more than just a seasonal treat. While rosé’s crisp, refreshing flavours often make it a summer best-seller, its versatility and rich complexity has seen it grow in popularity during the winter.
To make things even sweeter this party season, Miraval Rosé Côtes de Provence has launched in select Tesco stores nationwide. Owned by none other than Brad Pitt, the ever-popular Miraval is classic and elegant with a pretty pale hue, and has aromas of redcurrant, rose and lemon, along with a refreshing acidity – making it the perfect gift for any rosé lover.
Fiona Whelan, wine buying manager, Tesco Ireland, said: “At Tesco, we’re seeing more and more people reach for rosé during the winter, even though it’s traditionally associated with summer.
“With its vibrant notes and refined finish, rosé brings a fresh twist to a festive meal and is guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser at any holiday gathering. It’s perfect as an aperitif or to pair with a delicious cheese board or decadent dessert.”
Whether you’re raising a glass for a festive toast, setting the mood for an intimate dinner, or need a last-minute gift, Crémant is fast becoming the nation’s favourite festive fizz.
Whelan continued: “Crémant’s popularity has been on the rise in recent years, and it’s easy to see why. With its crisp bubbles and elegant style, it offers all the sparkle of Champagne at a more accessible price point.
“As more people discover its versatility and quality, Crémant has become a fantastic choice for a variety of occasions, especially during Christmas time – it’s the perfect accompaniment to fruit-based desserts like apple pies and crumbles.”
