Bord Bia launches 2015 Awards

As Ireland’s food and drinks industry seeks to grow output and expand exports, Bord Bia has launched its 2015 Food and Drink Awards programme.

“It’s important to recognise the continued progress and achievements of the sector in creating value for society and strengthening the sector’s reputation and competitiveness in domestic and global markets,” stated Bord Bia recently.

The awards will recognise excellence in eight categories: branding, consumer insight, digital marketing, entrepreneurship, export development, innovation, success on the home market and sustainability.

How to Enter

Companies can apply online at www.bordbia.ie/awards. Closing date for entries is Friday, 24th July at 5pm. The awards are open to all food and drink products manufactured in Ireland that are verified members of Bord Bia’s Origin Green sustainability programme.

Companies must have been in business for a minimum of two fiscal years and where relevant, it’s desirable that companies source materials that are approved under the Bord Bia Quality Assurance Schemes.

All entries will be assessed by an independent judging panel chaired by the Chairman of Bord Bia’s Brand Forum John Fanning. The panel of nine includes senior representatives from Bord Bia, Spar International, P&G, The Agricultural Trust, 2degrees, Google and Facebook.

The winners will be announced at Bord Bia’s Annual Brand Forum end-of-year event taking place in the Mansion House, Dublin, on Thursday, 12th November.

Guest speaker at the awards ceremony will be the Irish Rugby Team’s Head Coach Joe Schmidt. Keelin Shanley will be MC for the evening.
