Biggest decline in monthly BWS sales to 5th December

Ireland's Beer, Wine & Spirits sector experienced the biggest four-week decline in sales in the four weeks to the 5th of December 2021 when compared to the same four-week period the previous year according to a  FMCG Scantrack report from NielsenIQ.

 

The four-week period to the 5th of December saw declines of 21% in Beer sales, 17% in Wine sales and 8% in Spirits sales, leading to a 14.5% decline in BWS sales generally.

Over the 12 weeks to the 5th of December BWS sales showed a decline in sales of 14.1% compared with the same 12-week period a year ago – and a 2.1% sales decline for the week itself ending on the 5th of December compared to the same week a year ago.
