60-year-old scotch blend for sale – a snip at €120K

If you’ve a spare €120,000 lying around you might consider the buying up one of only 60 bottles of Diamond Jubilee scotch made by Diageo’s Johnnie Walker unit from a blend of whiskies distilled way back in 1952.

The undeniably vintage whisky is contained in a crystal decanter with silver trimmings and comes with two crystal glasses and a leather-bound booklet.

Even at €30,000 more, it’ll no doubt be a snip to those attending the month-long Master of Spirits II event in Singapore (where expensive tastes can be indulged at a price), the first stop on luxury travel retailer DFS Group’s series of events to highlight a range of luxury temptations including Dom Perignon Reserve de L’Abbaye 1978 or Chateau Cheval Blanc 1986 Imperial – yes, our own stocks are running low too….

“Some of them are buying them for investment” explained Harold Brooks, President of Global Merchandising at DFS,  “some of them are buying them because they can and some people really buy it to enjoy it.”

When sold – and it will be, reckons Harold Brooks – Johnnie Walker Diamond Jubilee will have followed in the steps of the record-breaking Dalmore62 scotch which was sold for €143,000 last September at Singapore Airport.

We enquired about a free tasting.  We were disappointed….
