Southwest Regional Winners announced

The Southwest region becomes the latest to celebrate winning local awards in the inaugural national Irish Pubs Awards competition jointly presented by the VFI and the LVA.

The various Award categories and the awards sponsors are as follows:

Innovative Pub of Year – Bank of Ireland Payment Acceptance

Best Music Pub – IMRO

Best Tourist Pub – Molson Coors

Best Outdoor Space – Bulmers

Outstanding Customer Service – Heineken

Best Local Pub – Diageo

Best Food Pub – Musgrave Marketplace

Pub Personality of the Year – Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard.

 

 

Eight pubs in the Southwest region are celebrating after winning the regional category awards at Cu Chullainn’s pub, Patrickswell, Co Limerick, last night. They’ll now go forward to the National Finals on 8th November.

 

 

South West Region winners:

Innovative Pub of the Year: Roadside Tavern, Lisdoonvarna, Co Clare

Best Music Pub: Dolans Pub & Restaurant, Dock Road, Limerick

Best Tourist Pub: South Pole Inn, Annascaul, Co. Kerry

Best Outdoor Space: Fanny O’Dea’s, Ennis, Co Clare

Outstanding Customer Service: Russells Select Bar, Dooradoyle, Limerick

Best Local Pub: Moroney’s Bar, Ennis, Co Clare

Best Food Pub: JP Clarke’s, Bunratty, Co Clare

Pub Personality of the Year: William Murphy, Murphy’s Bar, Dingle Penninsula, Co Kerry.

 

 

The awards were presented by VFI President Pat Crotty and the category sponsors.

The National Irish Pub Awards are open to all members of the VFI and LVA. The 56 finalists will be showcased as best in class in their area and will win a prize package of management training to help them progress their business further. They will also avail of comprehensive media coverage including a profile in the special awards supplement to be published in the Irish Independent on the day of the Gala Awards Ceremony taking place in the RDS Concert Hall, Dublin 4, on Wednesday 8th November. The overall category winners will also be featured by trade media partner Drinks Industry Ireland.

A series of seven regional events are taking place around the country between 18th September and 4th October to announce 56 finalists through all categories.
